WineRev’s Good and Goofy Notes
Watch for WineRev’s G&G notes in the comments to see what others went through, struggled with, and surmounted in the past. His G&G comments are mini Good News Roundups. You can find all his comments here, even today’s, once he posts it. Tech Tip: You can search for >>> in Roundups to quickly find his comments.
WineRev, last Sunday:
Shhhhh! (All in whispers……..) “You got it?” “Yeah I got it but its heavy.” “I told you there was too much in that tall glass.” “I’d be fine if Rover’s tail would stop hitting me in the knee every time he wags it.”“Well I’m almost to the door if I don’t rush, so don’t rush me.” “The toast smells really good.” “I know…...and keep Rover from getting a lick. That would be yucky.” “Well if it happens we won’t tell her.” “Rover! No licks! That’s for her!” “Now open the door all the way but quietly…….good.”…….Faint, faint brushing sound of slippered feet on cushy carpet approaching the covers……….
Happy Mother’s Day, 2 thanks! Here’s your Morning Mimosa…..which has the letters for “mom” in it…...so take a sip!
We know this is your Sunday to get up and do all that stuff in the Gnuville Breakfast Brunch Kitchen, but all your timers worked! See? The coffee perked, the tea steeped (shallowed tea is just icky), the mocha got cocoa-ed and the Automatic Magic Mimosa Machine did its shika-shaka-shika with the crushed ice and stuff just like it was supposed to.
The Jetson Food-a-Rack-a-Cycle has cranked out Breakfast Everything everywhere (whether fresh baked, hot eggs all sorts of ways, cold cereals in a bowl….way, toasts toasting) on the side tables of the Quilted Robe Lounge. You and all the other Gnusies can put feet up (with or without socks or slippers), munch on goodies within reach, sip on drinks within reach, keep the feet still on the “coffee” table in between the mimosa flutes and turn on the pixel screens! Lots of Mother’s Day morning news of the Good persuasion, and there’s lots of room for recs, comments, link-ery, snark and digressions. We’ve done our best with punctuation but if you need to correct the iambic pentameter semi-colons, well, this is the morning none of us will mind (too much). So thanks to 2thanks (or tutu thanks?) for getting us started here on a Sunday in May, hair curlers and cold cream and all. YAY!
Thank you, WineRev!
Science
Please share good science news with us! (Especially JSWT, health, environment.)
A good place to look for science news if you are waiting for the Sunday Roundup is the archive of Overnight News Digest. On Saturdays, the OND always focuses on science, though not all of it is devoted to what I would call Good Science News.

… arhpdx posted a list of good news sites toward the top of a recent Roundup, or you can find that same list in my comment: Good News Sources. Thank you, arhpdx and Mokurai!

You can use the map’s zoom arrows to resize the view and focus on your pin to find neighbors. Please note that the Google Map, though convenient to operate, is visually inaccurate because, among other issues, it enlarges North America and shrinks Africa [Maps present a distorted view of the world by kos].

A Little Bit About Me
I've been sick with what turns out to be a very bad cold. My daughter and grandson both had strep throat recently, and I had a very bad sore throat. I thought I’d contracted it, which I have had twice before. However, based on the results of an oral-swab test at an urgent-care clinic, I do not have strep throat. Thankful. Waiting for the definitive 48-hour culture.
I’ve had very bad sleep for the last week or so, even worse than usual. I’m behind on all my projects.
Our Gnuville fundraisers netted less than $2K this week, somewhat less than we’ve netted recently. Probably this is due to my recent inability to post reminders every day at 7 and 7:30 a.m. ET in the Good News Roundups and Boosting Biden diaries. I’ve been late or absent, and others have covered for me. (Thank you!)
Early Birds, I need help. If you’d like to help me (us) with this stay-at-home project (posting fundraiser comments at 7 and/or 7:30 a.m. ET), please let me know by kosmail or email.
Our Roundup is almost open!
Thank you for fighting for truth and justice with all us Gnusies! 40% of our Readers don’t visit every day, 50% of us do, and 10% are here for the first time! We all do what we can. For 5 years, we’ve shared positive news, laughed, organized, resisted, rebelled, revolted without being revolting, relied, rested, mentored, created, crossed rivers, chewed our cud, puffed methane out both ends, and laughed. Here’s looking at you, kid, and standing upwind! Beginners, you are cordially invited to comment!
As always, please share more Good News than I can find or provide.
This is a group diary, and by my power I declare this Good Gnus Salo(o)n open! Let the good-news sharing and community building begin!
Power with, not power over ❤️ ✊ ❤️
